Southeast Missouri State University
Hello from the women of Alpha Phi at
Southeast Missouri State University,
Kappa Gamma Chapter.
We are so excited that you are here!
Take look around and see what we are all about!
My name is Allie Burnett, and I am so honored and excited to be the 2022-2023 Chapter President of the Kappa Gamma chapter of Alpha Phi at Southeast Missouri State University. As President, I oversee the chapter, including events and operations within Alpha Phi, and work with the rest of my executive board to ensure everything involving Alpha Phi runs smoothly.
As I transitioned into college, I very reluctantly and nervously decided to go through Formal Recruitment at Southeast Missouri State University. No one in my family had ever gone Greek before, so this was not only a new experience for myself but for my family as well. I participated in a lot of various activities, clubs, and sports in high school, so this was my chance to continue to be involved during my college years. Even though every sorority had its own unique qualities that I loved, Alpha Phi gave me that feeling of comfort that no other sorority could provide. I felt like I could actually be myself when conversing with the girls in the chapter which brought me so much joy. After I had experienced sisterhood night and preference night, I truly knew Alpha Phi was where I belonged.
Alpha Phi has always been a constant in my college experience. Through the good and bad days, I’ve constantly received love and support from so many of my sisters. Alpha Phi has pushed me to be the best version of myself and has helped me grow not only as an individual, but as a leader, friend, and a sister.
I couldn’t say I’d be in the position I am now without the love and support of the women of Alpha Phi. They’ve given me the confidence and the courage to overcome obstacles and challenges that I face while also being a loving support system I never knew I needed. I am very blessed to be a part of Alpha Phi, because like we always say, you are truly never alone in this sisterhood.
